NDA 2022 Exam eligibility - Nationality

  • The candidates must be a citizen of India or Nepal or, Bhutan.
  • A Tibetan refugee came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident of India.
  • Candidate with Indian origin but has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan & East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.
  • A candidate other than the citizen of India needs to submit a certificate issued by the Indian government.

  • Candidates who are Gorkha citizens of Nepal need no such certificate.

NDA 2022 Exam Eligibility - Age Limit and Marital Status

NDA Age limit 2022

  • NDA 1- 2022 - The candidates must be born between 2nd July 2003 to 1st July 2006.
  • NDA 2- 2022- The candidate must be born between 2nd January 2004 to 1st January 2007.
  • The date of birth mentioned on the Higher Secondary Examination Certificate is considered for the age limit criteria of the NDA 2022 exam.
  • Document other than Higher Secondary Examination Certificate for age proof is not acceptable.

NDA Martial status

  • Only unmarried males and females are eligible for the NDA 2022 exam.
  • Candidates are not allowed to marry throughout the training session.
  • In case you fail to keep this condition and get married, you will be discharged from the training and have to pay all the expenditure.

NDA 2022 Exam Eligibility- Qualification criteria

  • The appearing candidate must complete 12th with PCM from a recognized board. ( For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defense Academy)
  • For the Army wing of the National Defense Academy, the appearing candidate must complete 12th from a recognized board.

  • Candidates appearing for the final exam (12th board) are also eligible to apply for NDA 2022 exam.

NDA 2022 Exam Eligibility-Physical Standards

  • The candidate must be physically and medically fit as per the standards set by the authority.
  • Any candidate who has resigned or withdrawn from any of the training academies of the Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.
  • Few defects not accepted by the authority are -

  • Wax (Ears)

  • Deviated Nasal Septum.

  • Overweight/Underweight.

  • Under Sized Chest.

  • Piles.

  • Tonsillitis.

  • Gynaecomastia.

  • Varicocele.

  • Hydrocele/Phimosis.

NDA 2022 Exam Eligibility-Body Tattoos:

  • Only on the inner face of the forearm, permanent body tattoos are acceptable.

  • Inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand/Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable.

  • Tattoos present on the face or body of tribes due to their customs and traditions are permissible on a case-by-case basis.

NDA 2022 Exam Eligibility- Height and weight

Height & Weight Standards for Male Candidates:

  • The minimum height measurement is 157 cms (162.5 cms. for Air Force).
  • Candidates belonging to hills of North-Eastern areas of India, Garhwal, Kumaon, and Gorkhas must have a minimum height of 152cms.
  • Candidates belonging from Lakshadweep should have a minimum height of 155cms.

Height & Weight Standards for Female Candidates:

  • The minimum height required for Armed Forces is 152 cm.
  • The minimum height required for Gorkhas and candidates’ belonging to the Hills of North Eastern region of India, Garhwal, and Kumaon is 148 cm.

  • For the Flying branch, the minimum height required is 163 cm.

  • Candidates below 18 years at the time of examination are allowed an allowance of 02 cm of growth.
