Some Facts About MNS Nursing

While training, during the day-off candidates can go out for library (for a limited period).

In every MNS nursing training center, education tours are a must.
In MNS nursing candidates get chances to attend the social night, farewell parties of officers, welcome parties of officers with particular dress code. So we can see MNS nursing is not that strict.
In a few training canters, mobile phones are not allowed.
Once in a year, a leave of total 40 days is provided to the MNS nursing candidates.

Major General- By selection
Brigadier- By selection
Colonel- By selection
Lieutenant Colonel- By selection (Lt Col Time Scale- after 16 Years of reckonable commissioned service)
Major- Eight Years of reckonable commissioned service
Captain- Three Years of reckonable commissioned service
Lieutenant- On entry

Presently there is no personnel equivalent to JCOs/OR in the Military Nursing Service as the other para-medical personnel such as Nursing Assistants and Ambulance Assistants are part of the Army Medical Corps.
